help loss of power fiesta 1.25

a friend came to me for me to have a look at his fiesta as it feels realey down on power and has a sputter at light revs so i changed his plugs but its still the same 3 plugs where light brown and 1 was black so changed his leads he has run out of petrol a couple of times to i know of so i was thinking fuel filter blocked injectors blocked exhaust blocked cat failed?

As it's a 1.25, first thing I would do is do fuel filter, then check co and suspect a buggered lambda, at least they are easy to change out on these, being at the rear of the engine sticking up out the exhaust, can be seriously tight though.

I have seen MAF meters fail on these very often giving them symptoms.
