fiesta st starting problem need help please
hi guys i really need some help so here it goes
my misses has got a fiesta st 05 and she ran it low on oil and water so it went bang, so i brought her and second hand engine from a bloke called shane who owns a company called speed & motion. he said to me that the engine has done 36k and that he had put acl race big end bearings because he was anal. so after driving a 4hour round trip we got the engine home and starting putting it in, we got everything in and tried to crank it over and we couldnt get oil pressure so we drop the sump and what did we find loads of metal bits in it. the oil pump was knacked and to top it off he had put conrod cap 2 3 the wrong way round, i'm no mechainc but you no if there the wrong way round because the dont line up, but this bloke shane should no what he is doing because he is meant to be doing this for a living, put if anyone nows a 2.0 duratec engine you cant get them the wrong way round because they are cracked for that rod. so him doing this meant that it scored the crank. so i phone him up and he was like ill send a new oil pump and bearing set, so after waiting nearly 2 months he sent me a second oil pump and only big end bearing,
right get back to the problem, we builld the engine back up got a different crank and all new bearings and pump, put it back in the car and crank it over to we got oil pressure, but when coming to start it, it wont start
any ideas as im stuck!! ive tried the leads and that. i've done a conpresson test on it and there are between 100 and 125 is that right?
thank you for your time

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
100 psi sounds very low to me.
An engine with only 36k normally doesn't need new big end bearings.
So, something bad has happened to this engine. Finding loads of metal bits adds to the suspicion this engine has seized completely.

well i found out that after taking the crank out it had been ran low of oil because the crank had burn marks and you only get them from running no oil and its burnt through the bearing, the metal bits was from the crank were he put the con rod cap the wrong way round.
many thanks
