Default XR2 turbo (engine swap update 18/7)

Hello all!

I have a XR2 with a ERST engine in it. But I want to swap it with EFI (I bought a complete FRST) does anyone know if I can swap the feul tanks? or can I use this fuel tank (modded for the ERST)

And does anyone know witch uprated IC I can use for the XR2? I dont want to cut the front end to much... (like it to much this way)

thank you!

(sorry for the lauzy english)

some picz of my fezzy!

German ebay.. Some lad from belgium bought it from ebay, my mate bought it from him and I bought it from my mate (there was to much work involved for them LOL... (wiringloom was f**ked and it had cooling problems they made a custom job with the rad and hoses and it didnt work out well) So I made a new wiring loom and better cooling system en then the problem was cleared! But now I want Efi

I dont come to fordfair this year (wrong planning with my summer holidays in turkye) Hopefully next year with the XR2t

I drop by the forum soon! thanks!

lol mine doesnt pass either, but only due to clear rear clusters.

As i say they can fit behind the front panel/completely hidden. Have a look in the search option in the xrtwo.com forum

EFi is a pain!!

I'll tell you what, you can have ALL my EFI stuff, if you come over here and put all your K-Jet stuff on mine, you can have all the EFi stuff.

Luckily I'm not in england.
I'm a scot.

I just don't bloody like EFi. K-Jet is much easier as I know exactly what it all is and does. It's also easier to set up.

Why is that Rab? Not had much luck with it?
I hate MFi! Silly metering heads that always seem to go wrong, pressurised boost pipes so it wont start if you pop one, messy engine bays etc... I love my EFi thanks!

a little update for my XR2:

I bought a FRST mk3 for sale with a lot of damage = € 7400,- !!!!!! = 4933,00 pounds! There was no bodypanel on the fezzy how dont was knackerd...

(rear damage)

(front damage)

First I strip out the engine from the XR2 and sold the complete MFI engine... I painted some bits and bought some parts new (just for the good looks)

(the old engine)

some painted en new bits for the new engine:

engine out of the mk2:

Now im busy to strip the FRST. The engine gets a rebuild and the required parts for a 200bhp @ fly engine :mrgrn: Need to get the wiringloom sorted out again... (less difficult than the KE loom)

bought a turbo from ebay:

T28 turbo compressor .42, turbine .57. Dont really know if it is in good condition but if not... its gonna get a rebuild...

bought a cosworth downpipe and 2wd intercooler

and a chroom rocker cover and inletpipe

the FRST is now complety striped out:

IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y126/marc_rsturbo/76a9474c.jpg[/IMG]

(my mate couldnt resist to see how strong a roof really is )

the wheels are in:

the arches need modification but it will fit with 195/40/16 tyres....

the wheels get a different color (like my old wheels on the ERST)

the engine gets a stage III head with newman cam and build by Koptec a company here in Holland (partner and old co-worker from Newman Cams and Cosworth Racing) hydraulic lifters gonna be swapped by mechanical lifters from a RS1600I head. The bottom end get a forged pistons with lowered compression... knife edged & balanced crank and balanced conrods... arp nuts and bolts...
more info on the engine spec soon...

plans for the brake system:
front:
RS2000 front brakes with 4x4 cosworth capilars (uprated pads and discs from TAROX)
rear:
Sierra 2.0 CLX disc conversion also with uprated discs and pads from tarox)

the new tailpipe

more updates soon!
