Default fiesta mk5 2.0.

First post so be gentle .Ive looked everywhere for info on sticking a 2.0 zetec into my mk5 fiesta zetec s,with the intention of either throttle bodies or turbo(probably the turbo)info i need is mainly,

.What engine mounts need fabricating(pics would be a huge help)
.If i use the standard gearbox with a ka bellhousing can i retain the driveshafts
.am i right in thinking i can use a fiesta turbo loom and ecu piggybacked from my zs for a zetec turbo and a mk3 16v loom i i go throttle bodies.

thats the basic stuff id like to know and any other info you think i might need would be appreciated.would especialy like to hear from people who have done it but anything you can add is a help.cheers

if the engine you have at the mo is a silvertop zetec then its just a straight swap with the engine mounts you'll need to remove the block and replace that with the 2.0 you can leave the 1.8 head on to lower the compression and everything else will be needed including the sump from the 1.8 you can use a escort s2 LSD gearbox aswell.

no fab work needed.

The 1.6 silvertop and 1.6 blacktop use exactly the same engine mounts in a Zetec-S.

I'd say no.

I think people are getting a bit confused here...

You can have silver top engines in Zetec-E format, as in the MK5/6 Escort and MK1/2 Mondeo, in 1.6/1.8/2.0.

Black top Zetecs as fitted in the late MK2 Mondeo and the Focus, in 1.8/2.0 format.

Then the 1.6 Zetec SE as fitted in the 1.6 Focus and the Zetec S Fiesta and some Puma's too. That comes in black top and silver top form and is totally different.

Not sure on mounting a 2.0 Zetec in a MK4/5, I've never seen anyone do it. Quite surprised to be honest, considering how cheaply you can buy the engines. Everyone seems to go down the Puma engine route, even though the engines seem pretty pricey in my experience.

Sorry, I haven't been much help have I Good luck with it though, be nice to see it happen, that's probably what I'd fit in one given the choice

**EDIT**

Incidentally, in a bid to be slightly more helpful, I know someone who has fitted a 2.0 black top from a Focus into a MK6 Escort by modifying the engine mount, so perhaps you could use the mounts from a MK3 Fiesta 16v (like an Si/XR2i 16v/RS1800) and adapt those to suit the black top.

Not sure how you'd go with the gearbox side of things as I'm not sure what type of box mounts the MK5 fez uses. You'd need a rear mount start box though, as all black tops suit rear starter I believe.

from what i can understand i can keep the fiestas box and shafts and use a ka endura bellhousin and it will go onto a 2.0 zetec.main thing realy is the wiring ang mounting the engine.has no1 done this before? think ill throw a post up on zsoc and see if i get some pics and info.i know duratecs have been done so surely a zetec

I've certainly never seen one.

I think most people on ZSOC will tell you to fit the Puma engine instead. Though I wouldn't, given the absurd premiums they seem to fetch compared to Zetec lumps!

yeah that does seem to be the case but like you say compared to the more powerful and greater potential for tuning the 2.0 has i cant see what all the fuss is about with the puma lump.
