Default Rs focus 280mm Brakes Now Complete Step By Step.Mk4/5 &

Thanks Once again to My Mate Graham (Nugget) My Rear Conversion is now Complete :thumbsup:
Parts Needed to carry out this conversion are as follows.
ST170 280mm Rear Discs EBC £125.RS focus 0r ST170 Calipers & Carriers & ST170 Rear hubs Between £150 & £250. Pads £45 4x Braided Hoses £50.ST150 HandBrake Cable £45.ST170 BracketB/Hose £8

ST170 Rear Hubs

2x 150mm Braided Hoses.2x 300mm Braided Hoses

ST150 Handbrake Cable Part No 1211024

Lift of Trim around handbrake Leverand slacken off Cable using 10mm Spanner

Clamp Brake Hoses

Disconnect Cable from Drums

Undo Two 8mm bolts and remove ABS Sensor (if Fitted)
Remove Hub Nut Coverand using a 30mm socket undo the Nut and take drum off


Undo Brake pipes at rear of Drum using 11mm Spanner
Use a 17mm socket on 4 nuts on rear of Stub axle and remove
Drill out the two Rivets which hold the Splash gaurd in place


Mount ST170 Hubs using 13mm socket applyThreadlock to each nut 4 in total
and mount disc.attach the ST170 Hose bracket at the same time




Attach Carrier

Connect the 150mm hoses to the calipers

Fit Pads and put Caliper on using the two 13mm bolts

Disconnect Brake hose from Body.and attach 300mm Braided Hose

Secure Braided hose in new Bracket

Take old hanbrake off car and pull out Black gromet rom linkage.The heat sheild will haveto by pulled down to access this part.

clip new Handbrake cable back up behind heatshield and attach to Calipers

Bleed Brakes 1st then Adjust Hanbrake cable up and replave trim around Handbrake

Job Done

does it work on ford puma? i'm looking for a rear disc conversion. and I don't know what I must buy for this.

Similar parts are needed, although your ABS will not work.

I done this conversion on my MK6 Escort with ABS and it didnt cost that much ...

The Puma shares the same ABS sensor and Collector as the MK6 .. You need to get the Hubs machined for the collector and drill the Spindal for the ABS sensor.

Do you have a part number for the mk6 abs sensor as i heard its also the same as the fiesta zetec s and will be doing the conversion on this soon.

How difficult was it adjusting the spindle etc for the sensor
