Default Mk2 Fiesta side exhaust !! is it legal ??

Im wanting to cut the rear section of the exhaust off so it just has 1 silencer near the front then weld an angle piece to middle section of pipe so it comes out of the side in front of the o/s rear wheel. Is it legal ? And would it be too loud or will it sound good.

If i cant do this i will buy a Cherry bomb exhaust back box. what do u tink ?

Why not a cherry bomb, i had 1 on ma corsa a couple of month back and it sounded great. And with these old engines with no CAT ive heard that they are very loud like they are on old Minis

Because cherry bombs sound SHITE!

The only one I've ever heard that sounded ok was on a V8 Land Rover 90...

not really our scene on passion ford i dont think....
depending on the condition of your mrk2 fiesta i think you would be ruining it cutting it up for a side exit
if your into that sort of thing thats fine. but here on passion ford as a whole we like to keep things standard on the outside. good exhaust system in the right place, and focus on performance... turbos, manifolds, injectors, management systmems, monitors (pectal...) injectors, throttle bodies and so on and so on

I will be having a side exit on both sides in the style similar to AG's focus's with the bodykit trimed with cut outs.

i have now made my own straight through exhaust with part of a down pipe from a rover 400, so it has double exit exhaust now looks cool just need some 2 chrome zorst tips to set it off.It is very loud (sounds like an old V8) and it farts and pops on full revs, love it. best zorst i ever heard. If u want a louder sounding exhast on any car dont go out and buy expensive back boxes just cut off your silencers and weld in a piece of pipe. simples.

people put mongoose etc exhaust systems on their cossy's and RST's not to make em 'loud as fook' its for performance increase.
cutting out the midbox and shitty welding some slightly wonky tube in its place makes it louder but probably will loose you power and sound pants.

lets see some pics of this fiesta ?? not knocking it if your happy, but for example my mk1 fiesta, doesnt sound like a v8. EVER and i certainly wouldnt say it has the best exhaust note ever! running it on a manifold and downpipe it just sounds like fart. and with silencer just a tappety old fiesta.

and also. if its a straight pipe on a std mk2, you will lose power EVERYONE will hate you and MOT tester will fail it.

i make exhausts at work as part of my job just randomly chopping backboxes off on non turbo cars will lose you bacpressure and power and in extreme cases can cause backwards pulses of gas into your engine at low engine speed which will eventually knacker your valve stem seals, oh and it will sound shite as well
