A strut brace will only work well with uprated suspension IMO, does your RS have the early 'two bolt top' front suspension top mounts of the late single bolt sierra type?
I think you can still get rear ones Advantages? better road holding and less bodyroll in corners, but as i said really only with uprated suspension.

and its the early * *2 bolt strut-top where can i get one ?

You should be able to get one from someone like Burton Power etc, i got mine from Rally Design (adverts in Classic Ford) youve gotta get one for an early XR3, i paid about £25 quid brand new for mine, good considering a strut brace for the later cars is about £90
