What kind of techniclutch did you buy? They have more than one clutch.

It's the torque that makes the clutch slip, not the power. If they did not know that you have a 2.1l which makes far more torque than the standard 1.6l, they would recomend the wrong type of clutch. A organic ap racing clutch would not be any better because it's rated for 180 lb/ft. Did you buy one with heavy duty cover?

I've got a techniclutch paddle, but it's advertised as an AP 4 paddle clutch! Still cost £255! Does this mean it's not a genuine AP one, and if so would a genuine one be better??? Sayin that I've had no problems with it, no slippage, tis still a 1600 tho and only runnin approx 200bhp at the mo.

i also have a techniclutch " four paddle clutch" in my ZVH and altho i hav'nt had any problems, touch wood! but it does'nt feel like a paddle clutch when driving its not visous and quite easy to drive. As above does this mean its not a paddle clutch?

Have you seen the clutch? They are pretty distinctive.

My bro has an AP Paddle in his FRST and I think it's easier to drive with than my Helix Organic clutch

My techniclutch 4 paddle is also pretty kind to the left foot, pedal's not stiff and certainly not as nasty to drive as everyone says! Other paddle clutches must be more harsh i presume????

AP really under estimate how strong their clutches are, it's kind of their disclaimer.

Techniclutch paddle kit is an AP 4 paddle driven plate with a standard LUK cover, not the heavy duty AP one (hense why pedal is light as standard cover spring)

I bought one some years ago. when it arrived I tried to return it as I wanted the full AP kit (their ad in Fast Ford stated "AP paddle - full kit", which i took to be a full AP kit, not a AP paddle and a standard cover! ). Anyway they refused to give me a refund.

In the event I fitted it anyway and its been OK so far, no slippage with 241 lb/ft torque but I never launch or slip it so Im not sure how it would stand up to more abuse.

In summary I will never buy another clutch from them, awful company IMO.

I have the heavy duty cover and it's heavier than a standard cover. It's definitely not a LUK cover, they are no alike.

It seems to be holding on. The only time it has played up a bit was at the Pod in October when the last fews runs I did you could smell clutch but it held on ok and didn't slip.

depends what clutch you bought off them!? if you just have an organic one off them it will not cope with the power. i have a paddle clutch with heavy duty cover from there and my car is 270bhp proven and i have no problems with it at all! Have had several paddle clutches off them with the heavy duty covers and bearing so have alot of my mates, and never had a problem with any of them.

If you are going to compare clutches, state you torque figure and not power.

No disrepect but this applies for most parts you can buy..

Do the research and you will have the answers, before you make the mistakes.

It takes seconds to search for techniclutch on any website. The results from a search would of given you a list of bad feedback regarding the item you bought.
