FITTING FIESTA RST MANAGEMENT ON ESCORT RST
Does anyone know what i need to convert my project car escort rst to EFI injection. I have browsed the forum and so far i can gather i need oddkidds special conversion plate, Toothed wheel inc crank sensor bracket fitted at pulley end of the crank (as i dont want to remove the engine again) (or drill the block).
Does my turbo crossover pipe line up with the efi maniford?
Do i need the turbo from the fiesta?
Do i have to use fiesta wiring loom throughout the car or is there another option using escort efi loom or custom wiring loom available??

You have covered the 2 main areas of difference, by using your pulley mounted sensor, and the conversion plate for the EFI manifold. The charge carrier pipe will line up, its up to you what turbo you use a Fiesta one (T2) will spool up a lot lower down, where as an Escort item (T3) will give you a lot more power, but obviously with the lag.
As for wiring, either of the XR2i or EFI XR3i looms will do the job, IMHO if you want to do a mint job on it then i would fit an EFI XR3i loom, there is literally a couple of wire changes to make, nothing major, and it will look a whole neater and Genuine, fitting an XR2i loom will mean discarding part of your loom, joining the XR2i one into it, and then also doing some mods to the wiring behond the dash aswell.

Thanks for the advice. The car its is to go on if ur interested is on passionfords restorations and rebuilds "MK3 in to MK4 conversion".
Theres not much info on the gotech but loads on the omex systems.
My choices are:
1. buy a new mfi distributor £850!! trade and a chip £300ish etc.
2. Get an efi manifold (is turbo and non turbo the same???) and fit an aftermarket better ecu. I am presuming a lamda sensor is required. advice appreciated.

I have spoken to omex and decided to opt for a new omex ecu. By the time u buy all the omex parts ur into about £1200 ouch. But far better than fords new k jetronic at £850trade plus £300 superchip, and as i am building the car from scratch, i also need an ecu etc in the first place to send to be chipped. Also the new system comes with new wiring, so no messing around with the antique ford wiring looms.

Have e mailed Damo @ Odd Kidd Creations. For anyone interested, he sells the crank position sensor bracket as pictured above, and all the conversion plates required to do the job.
