Default Rs2 sunroof question that nobody seems to know , mk5/6 escort knowledge required

Stripped the roof inside, out of my rs2 . Including carrier . Rotten. We all know a mk5 /6 sunroof glass fits . But I wanted to fit a full mk5/6 cassette , which is bolted in . How is it bolted in on a mk5/6 . Is the fixtures studs welded in on a mk5/6 . Bonded in ? Nobody seems to know . Was thinking of putting the brackets studs in etc and putting a full mk5 cassette and glass in .

I know this can be done as I used to break mk6 escorts rs2000 & gti models and every sunroof set up I sold went into a s2 escort

I agree but everyone uses the glass upstairs , I'm on about the whole of the cassette and what it's bolted to . When you stripped them out did you undo the cassette from the inside beneath the headlining , if so how was it attached . What was it bolted to , that's what I'm trying to find out . Cheers anyway .

yes I simply unbolted the whole thing in one complete unit and the chaps that bought them from me told me it simply needs a bit of minor nibbling in areas and bolts in , chaps like twins on here are very up to speed when it comes to rst stuff look through restoration section as he is bound to have a post there about it
