Floor pans
I am thinking about replacing the front two floor pans on my rs because it has had a couple of patches in the past and to me it looks crap.what would I have to do about the chassis stamp on the drivers side?it is only a thought at the minute but I would appreciate any advice

I assume you're a little confused, As I am reading your post.
You say you want to replace the front floor pans, but go onto mention the chassis stamp. The front floor pans are no way near the chassis stamp. Are you wanting to replace the rear floor pans? If so cut round the stamp assuming the inner sill to floor pan next to stamp and weld round it, ground the weld and will look good as new.

Yes mate I realised that earlier!sorry about that.i have two patch repairs on the front two floor pans which imo look crap so have been thinking of replacing the pair.for some reason I had it in my head that the chassis stamp was in the front not the back.
