That setup will run slightly hotter than a standard car unless you uprate and modify a few other things in the bay. However thats not really the issue at this point. you need to find what oipe has burst or what is leaking.

If it was running hot it can of course worst ways has signs of head gasket issues. If that was the case its possible thats where the water is now leaking from.

first find leak. If easy fix then come back update... If headgasket then remove get the work required done to head then come back before you attempt to fit or have fitted for some decent help.

Make sure everything on the coolant system is up to scratch, coolant mixture, thermostat, water pump etc. Check the cooling fans are working correctly with the wiring capable of running the two fans, if need be have new wiring and relay(s)

When its running again take it to a tuner who is familiar with the mfi system and get it set up.

you wont cook the cylinder head just by a pipe popping off unless you carried on driving It. if so then its your own fault .

I would want to know whats cooked how did they find out whats cooked and the proof please. a20 pipe is much easier fix than 500quid headgasket. are you sure noone is on a fiddle.

Thats a S2 (MK4) RS turbo. Certainly not a Mk2 RS turbo. Those Fans aren't kinfolk either they are Kenlowe fans.

Also that heatshield for the air filter isn't helping the car much, Its not even fit right.

I see you mention garage a lot. Personally get the car back and fit a new thermostat, coolant sensor, sender unit fan switch etc yourself. All of those stuff are pretty simple to fit, and would save you a massive labour bill.

Has it been set up by Interpro at some point, or has someone just stuck decals on random bits?

Interpro aren't far from Wales. Based in Thornbury, Bristol. They had a lot of hatred years ago. They sorted my RS out back in 2008, I never had any problem with them and they bent over backwards to help me out, including a free courtesy car/van for the time they had my car.

Once the work is done I would recommend getting it checked by someone who specialises in these cars, if it's out of tune - running lean or the timing is too adv/rtd you could be back in the same situation quite quickly.
