Does anyone know if ford ever made any rs turbo cabriolet ? If so how many?

Nope, wouldn't be fit for purpose. The S2 wasn't rallied professionally, but it was built with rallying in mind(there has been plenty used by private parties though). Unlike the S1 which has seen plenty of action.

I know of a guy who's got one and he claims its a rs turbo cabriolet on the log book, he said 3 were made, left the ford factory

Di had a Cab, But Ford never made a Cab RS. As per my answer 'Nope'.

Also my link showed every Escort RS, From the RSOC.

They made the SE500 which is an XR3i Cabriolet with an RS Turbo bodykit, but never an RS Turbo engined cabriolet.

I would highly doubt it says "RS Turbo" and "Cabriolet" on the log book unless it's a Q plate.

Princess Di had a black S1, non cabriolet. She may have had another Cab

Your reply doesn't make any sense i answered the question and the answer was nope, Why would Ford build a RS as a cabriolet.... You cant Rally a Cabriolet.

there were white se500's and blue se500's made, but as far as rs models go, they never made a convertible or turbo one.

might be a couple of the rarer 'turbo-technics' models, but they wont be an 'rs' on the book.

the only way would say rs on book if ones was built and genuine bits used and then validated by DVLA inspectors.

Rubbish. Please see my link in my first post it shows all Escort RS model made by Ford. Not one in the link is a Cabriolet(I posted the link to end the doubts). RS stands for Rallye Sport, You cant enter a rally event with a Cabriolet. Every Escort RS has been entered in a rally event whatever event it is.

Almost correct. You could build one, and you could register it as new or age unknown, but you couldn't register is as "Make: Ford" or "Model: Escort RS Turbo". It's actually a lot more complicated than people claim. As an individual registering a car you have to give it a unique Make and a unique Model without infringing on copyrights. Take a look at the logbook for any car built "new" from a 909 shell...

If it were re-registered (and subsequently given a Q plate) then there may be a loophole for some kind of ringer.

That it is rubbish. It's talking about the SE500 which is not a turbo.
