Zetec turbo gearbox
Hi I am using a Mondeo mtx75 hydraulic gearbox with a silvertop zetec engine etc. Anyone know what decent clutch will fit? Preferably a paddle clutch. I'm told focus Mk1 clutches won't fit etc. Cheers in advance

How much power are you running?
Personally if you can avoid using a paddle clutch I would. My car is almost undrivable with a Helix 4 paddle. I can manage but hate the car in traffic. Friends refuse to drive it and my dad when he's around will do so begrudgingly. At a local show a fellow S1 owner wondered how I even drove my car with the clutch after giving it a go (it did raise some laughs though!). Heavy with a biting point smaller than you can imagine (yes, really) sums it up. If riding the clutch the entire car shakes to bits.
A tuner not massively well known in the Ford scene from Brum way tries his utmost to not make people fit paddle clutches or at least fit a hybrid, and that is with people running 250BHP .
With an MTX-75 I'd have thought you would have a bigger selection of clutches for the power you desire, be it organic, heavy duty or even a combination of the 4 paddle centre with a stock pressure plate ; the latter is the setup I plan to go with in mine; It seems to handle the power and give a near normal feel.
OTOH, I reckon the clutch was one of the reasons why my car was sold to me .

Hi mate when it's done I'm wanting it at least 300bhp, im going to be going down the focus Rs box now so plenty to choose from 😁 I run a 4 paddle in my other mk3 Rs. I know exactly how you mean in traffic 😂 But I don't mind that feel so ill defo go paddle. Take it a 6 paddle isn't as bad?
However, remember that paddle clutches do not last as long. They have less material for one, tend to be abrasive on flywheels etc. and are designed for purposes where longevity is not high on the scale but where not having a clutch overheat, have less mass and staying clamped harder (i.e power handling) are a higher priority. I know on here some 4 paddles have not lasted long at all.
TBH I'd go with a normal but uprated clutch in my application but there seems to be a question mark over what clutches will work in my application with the increased torque.
