Why on earth would anybody want to get rid of cossie management?

Joking aside unless you had a brand new cossie engine loom I would start again with a fresh loom.

Because I have had it mapped and am not happy with the power that it's got and was told it should have as I have just had it on the dyno so looking to change to something I don't have to trave 4-5 hours to have mapped

Are you happy with its performance disregarding a dyno reading?

The management you use really doesn't have any effect on what power you make, unless there is a problem with your install and you end up curing that by proxy, I would at least get it mapped/setup by someone reputable like MSD (or whoever is close to you) before changing, if you do have issues they may well be able to sort those there and then too.

Fitting a nice new ECU and loom is always good and often comes with many new features, but may well not be needed in your case

That's the problem I have just had it set up and spent Ł3000+ and that's by a very respected place and it's running well to rich on top end and it's not got what I asked and was told it would have so now I cannot spend more money and travel 5 hours back to him so want out and use omex just don't no if I can just wire strait onto my cosworth loom

Can omex be configured to work with cossie crank position triggers is another question, or you might need a 36-1 crank trigger.

Ah I see! Where did you take it, can you really not take it back (I know it's a long drive but you paid good money), but also how do you know it's running rich?

If it can (which I don't know) you wouldn't really want to, a 36-1 setup would be more reliable if you are going to the trouble of changing, but then you may as well have a new loom too.... all more money though.

Fair enough mate.
Yes that is rich... and also lean! lol If that is two WOT runs then you are risking your engine every time you drive mate?

But looking at the graph if the boost limiter didn't kick in which is my other problem lol it would have been at 10-1 at 3700 rpm which is shocking

it depends what your budget for ecu is mate because i wouldnt be heading to omex etc id be heading for something alittle more advanced like the syvecs 6 or even the 6 plus.

The Syvecs is overkill for a CVH, most if not all of the options will remain unused for the average CVH install.

If I were you and you are dead set on changing then sell off the Cossie stuff (I'm sure Jano will buy it back off you) and go with whatever your nearest reputable tuner recommends, that way you have local support in case of problems which lets face it often occur even with the best will in the world, no system is perfect, no installer is perfect and 30 year old Fords are definitely not perfect! lol

I take it that wasn't Ł3000+ on just Cossie management?

Karl has given probably the best piece of advice above: Go and ask your local tuner what they can support. I'm sure Omex will be in the list. There's no point in having expensive management that only a very small number of people in the country will support at a 5 hour drive away.

Ditch the cossie management! It's wank. Leave it on a cosworth. That graph says it all.

+1.

Alot of issues can arise with people using an alien management system and it is also something they can blame as well...

I sent the Ecu to motorsport developments and he removed my boost limiter and sorted some of the maps out and it's flying now

Makes a big difference having someone who knows what they are doing look at problems for you, saved a lot of time and money!

you will need a 36-1 trigger wheel if you want to run omex.

Cossie management is wank compared to Omex.

Jano uses paul hills don't he

A webber ecu isnt wank or shite its the operator that's wank or shite ! Fact most are using ahmed files and don't have a fucking clue on how to trim them and get them right and will work on any 4 pot car with the correct trigger and sensors ect BUT seems a pricey complicated way to use it plus they are getting old now so going with a modern ecu could be a better idea
