The vac pipe going to the dump valve will probably go to a t piece near the inlet manifold this can now be removed

You need to only remove the vac pipe to the dump valve, you'll still need to have a vac pipe to the boost gauge.
So if you remove the t piece, you'll need either a straight through connection to join the two pipes, or a new piece from the manifold to the gauge.

And if you've got an escort Rst on mfi, you won't get chatter as the metering unit has a flap in it that closes!

Sorry I didn't put that down mind is efi I converted it about a year ago and I have done that just put a connector in so then gos off to boost gauge that's ok then least I no that's ok. Maybe not getting a lot of nice due to big cone filter which I had to have to do the conversion and running standard boost

This will open a can of worms, but surely running a dump valve keeps life a little kinder for the turbo, as opposed to running without one with increased boost levels. While the noise produced from the compressor is great is that not the sound of the turbo attempting to stall due to the air having nowhere to go?

While I am all for great noises I also try to be one for longevity .
