Default Escort Rs Turbo S2 MFI Cutting out.

Hi Guys

First off hello my names Adam and i'm new to the forum.

I have a problem with my rs turbo,

Everything seems fine and dandy when driving along everything is boosting okay and then out of the blue the engine will just cut out, its been fine up until this point.
It seems like its when the engine is up to temp. As it decides to cut out when idling once it has warmed up.

I know its due to be set up, it had new plugs and leads last year and an apparent new fuel filter, i had noticed today that the black connector thing on top of the dizzy is snapped, but it has always been like that and never been a problem since owning it.

Its an mfi unit.

i have fitted a new fuel pump and has been running fine for a few weeks up until now, so i'm sure i can rule out the pump.

Where i stand at the moment is do i change :
Pink Fuel Relay
Dizzy
Leads
Plugs
Fuel Filter

Any other suggestions ?
Any ideas on what this could be guys i've been told your the people to come to.
Really starting to miff me off as it has been running fine up until this point, like i say it drives fine and everything but then it just decides to cut off

I will answer any questions that will help with rectifying this problem.

CheeRs Guys

Adam

Adam have a look at the thin green wires from the coil. It runs right around the engine bay and ends up going to the ECU which lives just above the coil. Not sure why Ford did this but I have known them to rub through and earth out onto the body. You can isolate by just running a sort peace from the ECU directly onto the coil itself. It's just something you can rule out.

Hope this helps

it could be just due to needing a setup and tune. without seeing and trying various things it will be difficult or pure luck u fix it.

You need to narrow down what's happening mate, is it not sparking? Is there fuel coming out the injectors?
Does it restart immediately afterwards or do you have to wait a while (enough time to check the above)?

I've just had a similar problem, took a bit of head scratching until I realised it only did it when it got below 1/4 of a tank of fuel!now I never let it get that low, problem solved!
