Default what Oil - 5w50 or 10w50 - Halfords Motorsport Oil??

Hi guys

just read the 'What Oil' sticky and still not 100% what I should go for my 200bhp RST 1.6 CVH

I have always used Mobil 1 Motorsport 15w50 without issues but that's now discontinued.

do I replaced with 5w50 or 10w50?

any recommendations on the brand?

Just had a quick google and Halfords are doing a Halfords 5W50 Fully Synthetic Track Day Oil 5L for only £20!! do you think this will be a low grade cheap oil? and not worth the risk?

Thanks

IIRC a number of peeps recommend it for RSTs on here, and in the 944 Turbo world which also takes 10W40 as standard. In my mildly tuned 944 it certainly did the job .

I'd used it in mine if the bottom end was not a Zetec ;that makes my choices tricky. It is currently running 5W30 but I may go up to a 5W40.

a (turbo) engine needs quick lubrication from cold so 0W-40 or 5W-50 is the deal. Had both from Mobil 1, very good oils, but would stay with the 5W-50 atm.

£20 seems too cheap (I've not looked at it), a fully Ester based oil which is as good as it gets is usually around £50-£60
0/5/10w 50 is spot on so like this for example...
