I know suspension for the s2 rs turbo has been covered several times on this forum but it seems to be a little out of date as the selection of suspension available seems to be getting smaller. With the only available upgrades I have found without going to coilovers is the Koni, Gmax, and Spax. I know the gmax is rubbish as that's what was on my car when i bought it and the ride was terrible but that only leaves two. Is there much difference between the two or has anybody found an alternative that can be used for the odd track day but can also be driven on the road. I am looking for about 25mm drop as thats just enough to improve the handling and not break my spine everytime i go over a pot hole.

Had Spax on my last ERST. Thought it was ok but it didn't let you know before it let go, had a few scares.
Boge dampers with 30mm lowered springs (can't remember from where) on my current car handled well, wasn't to crashy and they lasted well.
Bought some supposedly as new Konis which should have been just scrapped so can't comment.
Have new Gaz top adjustables on the car now but never driven it so don't know what they are like.
Certainly way more solidly built than the Konis but the top adjusters worry me as the amount of torque needed to adjust them makes me think they would be easy to break so just left them all on the softest setting and hoping for the best.
Hoping they are decent as they certainly look the part.

Sounds good on the Gaz i didnt really think of them other than for coilovers i might give them a go the others i have just found are the avo top adjustable shocks not to sure if they are any good. What springs are you running with the gaz shocks

I suggest that you speak to Gaz. They are quite approachable and good to deal with .

No worries. As Columbo would say, one more thing...:

If I were you I would paint the dampers with some heavy duty lacquer. That zinc plated coating does like to rust, and lacquering them does slow the process down somewhat.

I have Koni adjustables on my cabby with AVO -35mm springs and it's fully polybushed. On any setting between medium and soft the car feels great. For me, it's too harsh on Hard.

If you're not going coilovers, my recommendation would be Koni.
