So let me get this right you had your car mapped on weber managment by jano@oddkiddcreations it pulled hard and was smooth and didnt eant to stop pulling and you loved it? Then your were involved in a pretty big crash i gathered wich fortinatly you walked away from and then you had the car repaired ect then it never ran correctly again?
If so doesnt that point to some kind of witing fault somewhere pehaps? Im not saying it was just saying surley it was a big possibility?

The crash had nothing to do with the car running shit that was years ago! it had a CPS error @ 5k rpm, as said above james said they don't run correctly half the time this is due to using brackets here and there for sensors. Leave it on a cosworth imo now I've learned. Yeah they can run fine but it was all second hand, I sold it all which paid for a brand new after market stand alone managent with new loom and connectors plus it's got anti- lag / launch control etc etc. you have to pay extra for all this with cossie management which is ŁŁŁ, it's a bloody no brainer.

The leading tuning company in the uk has said it all above! Is that not enough? Am not saying cossie management is wank but it's simply not better than going after market. price it all up for cossie stuff, INFACT a custom map (real mapping) is Ł500 at NMS and similar at MSD which is the price for the after market managent!!!

Ok fair enough BUT your sounding like am slagging OKC off when am not, I wrote a thread about FPT and the work I've had done, then Jano got on the defensive side about cossie management and pretty much accused me of lieing about MSD. Lol this thread has gone to shit.

This thread is a classic example of how PF has gone downhill.

Well done on making a happy customer Karlos. Shame the thread got off topic.

It is Lee, always someone losing their rag about something or spiting their dummy out!
But it's also good to hear MSD's view on old Cossie management, they are IMO the most reputable tuner in the country, they have by far the best dyno cell too, what they say carries a lot of weight.... There are too many people still stuck in their ways when there are better and more economical options out there, it's good that Jano brought it up!

We can't list things like that on here mate as it will look like an advert.

Sorry mate, I'm not a trader on here and it would be unfair to people who are for me to go into details, drop me an email or have a look at the site for that kind of info.

But I am glad everything worked out for you.

Best of luck

It may have been mentioned and I may have missed it but most people seem to use a cossie CRANK sensor for the cam sensor when doing the weber conversion, Hence at high revs they cause problems as they are right on their limits being used as a phase sensor. Why don't people just use a proper Zetec cam sensor? I always have done.

Agree with that Gadget, I have found the standard cossy crank sensor coil saturates quite easily and doesn't recover in time for the next tooth event when using a 36-1 crank wheel too, a couple of 10K resistors sorts is out and would probably work when using the sensor for cam.

thats slightly misleading for people looking for different management systems. swapping from cosworth management to megasquirt isn't going to make it faster or more responsive or better on fuel its the actual map on either or any management that will give you those things

Meaning that instead of spending ALOT of time and money purchase'ing cossie management looms etc etc and then getting it to work properly and 100% accurate to allow a decent map..
Whereas you can buy an OFAM ecu for an already running rs turbo plug it in and itl run (90% of the time) then just get it mapped and your sorted
Being that it all works 100% and is alot easier to set up and many many people tune megasquirt it is a great option these days..

And if you read the rest of this thread you would have read that Information in Context and realised they meant whilst cossie management can be a good system it's very hard to get one that's healthy,a decent loom, and all the gubbins and sensors all working 100% to produce a healthy engine and decent map.. What was meant was it is far easier and much better on the pockets to buy an OFAM ecu and stick with your already functioning loom and you could pay for your mapping session all this before youv even paid for cossie managemt with all the swizzle to go with it

I understand it fully in context it's bashing one management system over the other when its not the management but rather the setup.
I personally wouldn't use either as i don't like either system for different reasons

The thing I don't get is the Ł700 bit ...... Does that mean that if I had an mfi managed car still , could I get a loom and sensors and everything needed for the whole management system ?

No, OFAM is plug and play for a car already running OFAB/C.... MFI cars would use a GEN8 which of course needs all the usual EFI parts to be fitted too.

It was actually Ł684 Ross BUT i already had a lot of the efi parts needed. I paid Ł30 for the frst inlet and had the efi pedal and cable given to me
You could add another Ł185 on for the innovate wideband but i would of bought that even if it was mfi still

I've had an OFAM ecu fitted by Karl very happy with it as its all looks factory under the bonnet, he also fixed lots of starting issues for me TPS fault and PUMP fault

Very very happy with his work and looking forward to taking it back for a remap
