Default RS turbo service

Hi all, I posted a few days back of me being a brand new owner, the car has been parked in a garage for many years. I want to get a full service from top to bottom done, I was hoping for some help for a list of parts, leads, spark plugs filters etc that you may feel I could do with changing on a 26yo car. Thanks

One more question.. It's an 88 spec, when I turn my lights on at night/evening, the backlight on the switches are all the same colour, however the switch at the top (believe it is fog lights) it's is red coloured. Is this right/supposed to be this colour?

I believe the rear fog light switch illuminate red and the other switches illuminate amber. It's been a while since I owned an S2.

What he said.

However, I would try and go with good branded parts. FWIW the dizzy cap on an MFI car is the same as a VW Beetle with a Bosch 009 dizzy, giving you a bit more choice.

Preferably by Versus_Creations - not far from us in Kent and knows exactly what he is doing - you will learn a lot by taking it to him.

Sorry, my grammar needs addressing

I meant the location of Jano @ versus (in Essex) is not far from us; in Kent.

I have been reading his posts for years, and he is well worth the few extra miles across the Kent border to essex.

Not only will he do a perfect job for very reasonable rates, but also explains exactly what he is doing and why

Don't take it to just any mechanic. Those old cvh's need someone who knows what they are doing or else they'll do more harm than good.

Yeah I have been hesitant and have been asking the question around, if anyone that knew the car well etc. Obv you guys on here are great help with most if not all issues in question. But a mechanic is a mechanic at the end of the day.

A mechanic will not know how to tune up an rs properly. You need an rs specialist

no way!

Thats like going to your GP and telling you that you have a brain tuma.

Dont you think a neurosurgen should give a diagnosis of that after scans etc.

So my point is a mechanic is a GP. A specialist is your surgeon

Noooooo i wasnt clear on what i was trying to say , what i was saying was that despite all the help i have on here, i will still need a mechanic, i would'nt take my pride and joy to just any mechanic, it will be one thats got a proven track record with ERSTs

Lol, sorry to jump into your thread again - just my opinion, but I would rather travel the few extra miles to visit a genuine specialist once, than visit somewhere closer multiple times while they potentially attempt to accrue the required knowledge.

e.g check this out lol

and this

https://passionford.com/forum/genera...eations-a.html

But if you just want a service (i.e it's already running perfectly) why not just do that yourself, and save the money for the tune up/remap?

Roughly where in Kent are you anyway?

Nathan you should be on the payroll with such good feedback and confidence in me. I do truely appreciate the good words. We all know bad news travels fast, but good news is rarely heard or cared about. So when genuine customers give their own unbiased opinion it counts more than any amount worth of advertising, that I have always avoided as someone has to pay them fee's which is always the customer.

Word of mouth is what a true decent company should be based on. Not how much you pay google ads or magazine articles etc..

I try to satisfy everyone and will continue to help where I can.
