hello everyone

basically I've fitted oil temp and oil pressure gauges to my erst, have a pillar pod gauge, all plumbing to the sender on a adapter on back of block, tapped into the lights feed from the boost gauge so illuminates nicely.

my question, I'm struggling to work out where to attached the ground wire for the sender, I'm thinking anywhere on the car metal should be ok, just dont know where i can get an ignition feed to attach to that is my biggest struggle right now.

I've got original ford cassette radio, what colour could it be???

yellow or red i cant remember which, you'll have to check with a multimeter

right so hook up to the red wire, use a multimeter to see which gets a feed when turned ignition that sounds good

what about the found, shall i feed from the stereo ground or bolt it to a metal part of the car?

Yes i would say so. As for the ground, I cant say either way will make any significant difference over the other. Go with which ever is most practical/ convenient for you to do.

The ignition live on your stereo is yellow. You want the earth as close to the sender unit as possible so I read in the instruction leaflet I got with my stack gauges.

It's yellow, which is confusing as usually it's red and the constant is yellow.

The ground is the sender?

Ok I knew it was one of them but couldn't remember which without checking, which is why I advised to check with a multimeter before hand.

just wanted to say thanks guys, and thanks for commenting this morning that it was yellow, all sorted now and grounded, heres a photo of my hard work helped by you guys

I've just fitted a cheapo oil pressure gauge, well I say fitted its not mounted, bloody thing says I have 120psi oil pressure.

I'm opting for the gauges in place of the radio and relocating the radio to the centre console.

The sender unit supplied with the gauge, I've purchased a better gauge so will get it fitted soon.

That's some serious oil pressure! If the new gauge reads the same then maybe the relief valve is stuck in the pump, hopefully it's just a crap gauge.

my cheap gauges and senders came off ebay from china, took over a month to deliver, work well, guess my oil pressure is ok then, does that mean i can mod the engine with more boost???

also is it worth fitting a 'fuel pressure gauge'?

Lol, yes the problem must be the sender, either that or the OP has shorted the ground, or it's a faulty gauge.

The FP is a good idea (which is more important that boost pressure!)
