I have a intermittent problem with a misfire when opening the throttle afterover run. as soon as its open any longer than 2 seconds for example, the misfire goes. I also notice one cylinder is running lean. (plug is whitish, others are the correct tan colour). could the two symptoms be related? Im thinking the injectors are suspect (the lean cylinders injector maybe leaking? anyone have any experience of this? the car needs a setup anyway but I want to make sure any niggles are out the way first. the other thing is it starts on 3 cylinders for a couple of seconds, thens runs on all 4. thanks in advance

swap the injectors round and see if the problem moves with the injector

Have you changed the spark plugs?

I haven't luke. the plugs are some spare that I had lying around so its definitely due some fresh ones. I just used them as I had them handy upon fitting the fresh motor. something I have overlooked and was on the to do list.
