flushing my ford escort 1.8d heater matrix
Hi I'm starting a new thread.
I found the 2 pipes that are needed to flush the heater matrix.
So I went and unclipped them and flushed them out and now I can't figure out which one goes back onto which. Also I topped up my water and the temp is sitting on normal (in the middle). But after driving for a hour I checked the water tank and it was cold and no pressure on it which is worrying.
The fan is blowing hot air in the van now so something is working at least.

It shouldn't really matter which way the pipes go on, to be honest if you have put them on the wrong way round it will probably flush out more crap anyway.
Wouldn't worry about the tank not getting hot either, just so long as it isn't overheating, you have nice hot heaters etc then everything should be ok. Take it for a run, leave it ticking over for a few minutes and feel both radiator pipes. Just so long as they are nice and warm then you shouldn't have a problem.

Yes it is fitted. I think the blockage has been sorted because its much warmer than it was a few days ago when I flushed it. The temp stays in the middle when its warmed up.
