Default Front and rear strut braces.

Two questions.

Is it best to use nut and bolts, or can rivnuts be used?

Should the car be on the ground when fitting?

If you really want to go for the advantage of the braces i would say weld the rear one. Rivnuts i am not sure about.

I would fit while being on the ground. You want to take the flex out of the chassis. If you jack it up you flex it first and then you fix it. Not the ideal way i would say

Would want to use tek screws. Can't imagine them holding something like a strut brace firmly enough.

The only reason I ask about rivnuts as some people say their not good enough to hold a strut brace, but ive also been told by others that using nut & bolts foul on the shock.

Just wondering what people have used on theirs really.

rivnuts is a good way of doing this and looks better too, seen many car use self tappers where you may as well use double sided tape lol

Got the rear strut brace fitted today.
What a difference. I can't believe how much firmer the car feels on the road now. Also had a few squeeks and rattles at the back which have now gone.

I taped the brace by hand into to place to see where it was going to sit. Put the jack under the car to remove the wheels to get into the arches. Half a pump of the jack and the brace just fell out!
I can't believe how much difference is made. Well worth the money.
