Need to clean up the underneath of the s2 but unsure what to use. I'll strip it all back to the bare metal an then seam sealer all the joints etc but not sure what to do after that, some sort of rust protection? Any help would be appreciated

No need, You can either spray primer over the bare metal. Allow to dry and then spray stonechip Shultz(?) from Hammerite Allow to dry and spray another coat as required.

Then up to you, you can paint the chassis in the car colour. 2 pack paint or an oil/gloss based paint thinned down with paint thinners, Again allow to dry. Its best doing over a week period.

I'd suggest if doing this do in the the garage and ensure plenty of ventilation, Making sure no cars are parked nearby. If needed Wickes sell paint mats you can mask to the garage door and hang down, holding the bottom down with some old tools.

im in the process of doing this now. cars still taxed and insured and the worst job I've done.
fuel tank off, fuel cradle off, wishbones, springs, struts, every thing off, wire brush, kucrust it all, primer it, brush pint hammerite colour to match rest of car, its looking nice.

having all new brakes pipes made, got braided stainless steel fuel lines ready, new brake n fuel clips, order new springs mine corroded, got stainless steel rear lines ready, new 044 bosh fuel pump, new cradle, new mad rewire loom ready, tank refurbished, wishbones this weekend getting done, poly bushes then for the wishbones making the car 100% poly everywhere possible/

all takes time, a little bit each night

I would say, from experience, stear well away form Hammerite on the underside of a car. It's far too brittle and cracks. And when i does crack, it falls off in sheets. I originally did mine in Tetrosol stone chip and Hammerite. I'm in the process of re-doing it all.

Seam sealer
Zinc or Etch primer on bare metal.
Primer
Re seam seal
Gravitex stone chip
2k Paint

I'm not bothering to laquer it.

You can see the piles of red paint under the N/S of the car. At least the Hammerite's being easy to remove
