Default T34 Turbo - Spinning Housing and best Actuator

Hi Folks, I have a T34 turbo that has been rebuilt by CR Turbo's (Gadgets old turbo) now what I would like to know is

- How do I go about turning the exhaust housing round? It is currently setup for a cosworth and I need it to go on an ERST manifold. Having looked at the pics below it looks like I just need to turn the exh housing, is it just a case of taking off the nuts that have the bracket attached to them and turning it? Reason I ask is when searching through posts people mention about it unbalancing the turbo will this be ok to spin without affecting the balance?

- Does it matter which way up the cold side is ? as in will it make a difference whether it points up or down? I know the core has to be right way up so that the oil flow goes in the top and out the bottom,

- Finally does it matter what actuator I use, The difference between a -31 and the -34 is the spring, What would be best on a Zetec Turbo running around 25psi of boost? Any ideas?

You just need to loosen the bolts that hold the the curved clamps between core and housings and rotate to where you need.

It's the core that is balanced so this shouldnt upset anything in that regard.

Lol perhaps not as much as 24 but whatever psi it will take to hit 320 to 330bhp will do me. I picked the t34 as I felt the t3 woukd be on its limit at that bhp and the t34 has more room for more power later on.

What I did not anticipate was how much if a bitch it was going to be to fit it to my erst manifold. Spent about 3 hours last night trying the housings in different places but it kept fouling the manifold.

Finally managed to get it to sit but as you can see that us a he'll of a tight fit. We are talking mm's! Look :

Yep there pretty big! I have mine sitting over the gearbox on a custom manifold but things are still fairly tight as i currently still have the servo although that will be going eventually too.

Another thing I achieved in the process was that i have now broken the rubber seal on the inlet housing, it was a tiny string like seal in red and was torture to realign back in, So rather than get a boost leak I have now had to fork out for a new rubber gasket! Least it was less than a £10

Here is a pic of it fitted to the manifold:
