Default RST clocks

Hi guys, i went to fit some rst clocks into the bonus today thinking the connections were the same but turns out there completely different? Is there anyway around this without rewiring?

buy the plugs for the correct dash there are 2 types of mk4 xr3i rs turbo clocks
fuel on left or temp guage on left
colour match most wires and add at least 1 from coil for rev counter

No there's no way around it. Base model clocks have completely different connectors.

It's not just a matter of the fuel left/right they are completely different.

What I did with my brothers Orion was take a pair of connectors off a scrap XR3i/RS Turbo loom, then wire them in parallel with the old connectors. All the wires are the same colours, but you have to add a rev counter wire.

follow my first reply you can`t go wrong
unless you follow the incorrect advice of the guy who repeated Most of what I said.

I'd like to know which part of the reply is incorrect?

I guess you misinterpreted it. Base model clocks (I.e. Without a rev counter) have diferent plugs to both the higher spec clocks. Both the higher spec clocks (fuel left or right) have the same plugs, the pinouts are diferent.

My reply offered an alternative method for connectivity. Plus, you didn't even answer the questions and your grammar leaves a lot to be desired...
