Default Holding back/boost cutting S2 RS Turbo

Hi I've just got the rs MOTd and back on the road after fitting a new intercooler etc over winter, anyways I took her out for around a hour just steady away as I havnt had her set up again yet and everything seemed fine, boosting too 10psi and holding no problem then all of a sudden as the boost would start to raise she would start to hold back then go then hold and so on, anyways I took her home steadily and noticed the vac pipe to the bleed valve had come off so she must be over boosting and the ecu cutting the boost?? I dont know if the ecu is standard. Anyway I reconnected the pipe and took her back out but I'm having the exact same problem with out the leak on the bleed valve? Could this now of damaged the ecu or fueling, in the higher gears like 4th and 5th when you need the turbo to be torquey it's even worse, ok in short blips of boost in first tho, cheeRS Ryan

I didn't bother reading the post. It looked an eye sore, but as mentioned above check over all hoses and vacuum hoses from the inlet to ECU and boost gauge if fitted.

Whats the spark plugs gaps setting at? How old is the distributor? It could be the timing....

You really need it set up before continuing to use the car.

Checked boost hoses but all tight and new samcos. Think it must be something to do with the vac pipe cuming off the bleed valve, maybe caused some damage if ecu kicked in to stop it over boosting as it never went over 10psi on gauge cheers

If you didn't read his post how can you offer advice, you might aswell tell him to check the guttering at his next door neighbours kitchen?

Piss off! Fucking troll..!

And to the OP, if you are still having problems with the car check the guttering of the next door neighbours kitchen...... If you sort it out, the problems will vanish on your car.

Is it possible that your intercooler is blocked or not efficient enough?

Reason I say this is because I seen a post on here with the exact same symptoms as yours and it was the intercooler, Why dont you put the old one back on and take it a quick run?

My bro had the same problem with his S2 rst.
The Ford dealer couldn't find the cause..

After a lot of messing around with sparkplugs and vac hoses, it turned out it was the ECU.
There is a boost sensot built-in and that was broken.

You can check it by blowing into the little hose that goes into it.

You could be lean on boost too, I would get the fuelling/timing checked to be safe.

The intercooler is a spanker and a spare ecu that has been chipped so in morn ill change all the bits over, check all hoses and Hopfully that may get her running well enough to get to motor sport developments as I don't kno any1 else closer to Leeds to get it set up properly.
