Default Pink relay

Hi, my pink relay melted today and I've replaced it with a brand new genuine one but the fuel pump doesn't prime however it does start and run and the fuel pump works when the engines running. Is there an issue with the new relay? Fuel pump is about 2 years old and is a genuine Bosch
Thanks

You need to find out why it has melted. I wouldnt be putting a new one in if that melts too.

Check the wires to the fuel pump have a clean connection. Check the wires to the replay plug are good

I wonder if you have the correct one for your car, what do you define as the genuine one?It sounds like you have a conventional relay, the correct one has a timer so that the pump will prime.

If it has the right pressure already it does not prime. Isn't that your "problem"?

I disagree with this, the pump will prime all the time, irrespective of pressure. There is no way it can know the pressure!
