rs turbo non starter

Default rs turbo non starter

please help.ive taken the running rs turbo mfi engine out my wifes cabby and put it in my mk3 using the s2 loom.but it wont start.all im getting is popping and bangs out the exhaust,ive ad the timming done and rechecked the firing order still nothing.checked for air leaks loads a times aswel.ive got spark but just noticed no fuel from injectors but have fuel to metering unit and have noticed fuel round cold start valve.i have just changed metering unit and still nothing.all that is different from the cabby is im using a 12 gallon fuel tank in back of car with facet low pressure pump to swirl pot then the rs turbo fuel pump to engine.any help would be great as running out of ideas now.

ive even tryed holding the flap down abit on the metering unit but still nothing.could any of the sensors on the back of inlet stop it from starting????

There are different types of dizzy you might still have firing order wrong. Thats why you get bangs and pops. Try a 180 deg turn of all plugs on the dizzy

Its the same dizzy as when was in my wifes cabby and it was running in that car

I am not sure about this anymore but can be that the inside is different. I did my fire order according to the books. Didn't start till it was turned 180 deg. Till then only bangs and puffs like it was about to go

its the same engine dizzy and loom that was in my wifes car ive swapped it all over into my car and no it wont start even thought was running when in my wifes car

Sorry now i do understand it. Did you swap the coil too? Maybe try a different one

crack a banjo on top of the fuel distributor and crank it ..is there fuel coming out?
if not adjust fuel ratio screw clockwise 1/8 turn at a time until you see fuel then doi it up again..try to start it for a second..if no joy turn screw a little more then retry

also maybe fuel disconnect pipe from metering unit check pressure but also check fuel rate to ensure the low pressure pump is keeping up with demand
