Air leak at a guess, if you have a DV take it off and see if that improves. Worth checking th eheavy plastic pipework that runs from the left rear of teh rocker cover to the metering head as this can crack and cause problems.

After that without the car in front of me it's a bit tricky to diagnose

hi it could be related to the air sensing plate , remove air box
start car do all the revving by hand, don`t pull the cable, twist the mechanism at the throttle body, , your air plate could be returning too far and starving engine of air, 2 minute job to adjust the plate rebound stop, if that is the problem,

Just to pint out it isn't running right from start either, it's lumpy.

Air leaks is always the first thing to check as above, if there are none then the fueling and timing should be checked.

If you mean the flap in the metering unit then what you describe as the rebound stop is the idle mixture screw.

when i renewed my crankcase breather filter the revs raised to 1.4k and it was all gunky, so it was now breathing better, as in i had to turn down the idle screw and have the co mixture checked

I don't have a DV installed, all original.
Going to check the auxiliary air valve and the pipework for leaks tomorrow.

The breathing doesn't effect the idle directly as such, sounds like you either fixed or created an air leak without knowing it.
