Default Advice needed after possible over heat.

Hi guys,

On Tuesday I was out and about in the Series 2, when I noticed the temp creeping into the red. I pulled over and noticed the oil pressure was @8psi. Looked underneath and the oil pressure gauge hose had split, and was dumping all its oil.

I turned it round to aid the recovery driver, and the temp was at 3/4 and 0 oil pressure, and then the oil light flickered on.

About 1.5 litres of oil came out earlier and there was no sign of any damage to the shells etc.

Ive got it back together today with fresh oil, and new hoses.

Went out for a drive, and all is well apart from the temp is touching the 'N' at idle. The car is boosting fine, and there is no knocks or bangs, thankfully. When motoring it drops just below half as normal.
No signs of mayonnaise, and the heaters are working as normal.

Any ideas what I should be looking at?. Possible fired thermostat?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I was gonna make the 500 mile round trip to Central Day in her on Sunday, but think Ill use the Toyota instead.
