Default Power steering

Could anybody enlighten me about fitting power steering to my Rs?i understand its possible to use a vauxhall electric system?what would I need?and is it a job I could do?

I've seen those on eBay,just wondered if it's a job for a novice mechanic or best left to the experts!

Lol!i take it your not a lover of power steering then?im not a fan but the wife is.it would be a shame if she didn't drive it because of that,after the time,effort and money gone in to it

Fitted it to my MK2 rally car and it was quite easy. It involved cutting the shafts and welding them together. Wiring was a bit complicated but sussed it in the end. We wired the feed through a switch so it could be turned on or off

i still think she should 'man up' my miss is 4' 9", size 8-10 and she drives my rs easy from Birmingham to newark and all around town with no issues although she doesn't like the slow manoeuvring she copes lol

If you can find one fit a Quaife quick rack at the same time, sharpen the steering up nicely!

Yeah I found them for that price as well,I dont think my basic mechanic skills would run to fitting it!

At a very rough guess a couple of hundred pounds for a reasonably priced mechanic/tuner, looks like a days work with dash out etc.

Haven't seen that, but that what Karlos said £299 for the kit and about £200 for fitting.
