Hi I have brought a head just for the piper 285 cam that is in it, on comparing it to my current head the exhaust posts seem larger.

Also looks like someone has grinded down some parts around the where the valves sit on the inside.

My current standard rs turbo exhaust outlet



The exhaust out let on the piper cam head:



Grinding top end of head near each valve, is this normal?

Also it seems to have some unusual welding. See the pic below.

Any idea if this head would be useable?

I would say that's been ported, also the welds suggest it's been used on a zvh conversion in the past,
I would use that
