The Devil Developments Fiesta was using standard sized valves at 592bhp, though I think they were PEC ones.

I know of a few Zetec turbos with well over 400bhp that used standard Ford valves.

Lower Compression, turbo, valve springs, injectors, remap
Oh and you'd probably then want to upgrade the gearbox, brakes, bushes, engine and gearbox mounts too! lol

The first few things are what you need to make 290-300bhp mate, then the rest will need changing to handle the extra power..... a RST with 300bhp will destroy a standard gearbox, the brakes will struggle to stop it, the engine and gearbox mounts will tear in half and the car will flex all over the place with standard rubber bushes.
Oh and you would need forged pistons and rods too.

Build something cheap it won't last spend good money on on your bottom end ie pistons and rods!
And you always have scope for more power!!
You can have all the Gucci bits in the world like external wastegates and gt30 turbos but if you have a week engine it's just going to break

A good bottom end can be built for about Ł900 that will have the means to do 400hp

You'd be pushing your engine at that power, easiest and cheapest option is to use an ST170 bottom end (good for 350bhp) with a Mondeo 2.0 Black Top head (fitted with the valve springs from the ST170 head).
I'll put a full list together when I get a chance mate as you asked, just mega busy getting cars out and sorting other bits with my holiday coming up next weekend.
