Would this Escort RS Turbo bonnet be a straight fit onto my normal plain old MK6 Escort?

No ,if you want the vents in your bonnet, you will need to cut out the surrounding metal, and weld them into your mk6 bonnet

Get another mk6 bonnet, and do it in your spare time ,then swop over when done
