Exhaust hangers (S2)
Just found this on my exhaust:
It's the stock exhaust. Am I missing a hanger? I wasn't able to get a better look around it since I don't have a proper jack at the moment.
Also, does the front rubber have a different size than the rear rubbers? Can it be replaced with a rear rubber? I mean this one:
That junction of the exhaust where the front hanger is placed really makes an awful rattle at 2000rpms, I tried to tighten the bolts but it still makes a little bit of noise. My mechanic suggested me to change the rubbers... Even if they won't be the solution to the rattle they need to be changed anyway, and I want to get the Powerflex ones, but they have the shape of the rear ones only. Can they replace the front one as well?

There's a bracket that slides into that box section with a captive nut on there so you bolt it to the box section .
Ive got a stainless one in the garage, i'll get a pic for you.

You can mix and match the mounts, Local unipart will be able to supply you the correct rubbers.
I've just fitted a additional mount like gadget describes, exhaust sits a lot better.

I believe there is a standard hanger plate that bolts onto that box section just under the corner of the fuel pump cradle.
Most RST's I've seen have these removed as using them seems to cause after market exhausts to sit to low. Without it you can twist the exhaust up tighter under the car.
I've had 3 used exhausts on my ERST and each one has had that hanger on the bend cut off.

Cool thanks everyone for the replies... And excuse the rot, it will be taken care of as soon as the other problems will be solved.

Sorry for bumping such an old topic, but a funny thing just happened with my rear Powerflex hanger. Last night I went to the garage to take the car out for a drive, and I noticed the exhaust was a bit lower than it was supposed to be lol...
It lasted about 4 months of street driving. Did this ever happen to anyone else?
