Roller needle rockers for cvh
I've got. Set of Harland sharpe roller needle rockers for my zvh which I attempted to test fit today on a spare head . The bolts I've been supplied with them are to small for the stud holes in the head ? And I cannot fit a bigger diameter bolt in them due to the rocker arm hole size ! What's the best way around this please ? Helicoils or keensirts maybe any help would be appreciated . And can anyone tell me if the American cvh head has smaller stud holes than the British one Thanks

Thanks karlos yes just using my existing cam which is fine . You only need a diff cam to run the roller needle lifters I believe . Not the rockers Harland sharpe designed these to work with flat top tappets not the roller versions .

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
I have a set of Harland Sharp roller rockers.
The bolts I have are 8mm x 1.25 pitch and 45mm long.
These fit fine in my CVH head.
I believe the standard cvh heads in the UK use studs with nuts instead of bolts?
Maybe someone could measure stud thread size and pitch?
CVH forever!!

Standard cvh rockers studs are m10 bottom half then m8 top half and 37mm long. I was on the phone to ford yesterday trying to source some but they wanted a minimum of 25 ordered

I have a set of Harland Sharp roller rockers.
The bolts I have are 10mm x 1.25 pitch and 45mm long.

hard to believe a 10mm size would be too small?

You are correct - I have no idea why I wrote 10mm bolt when I measured an 8mm thread.
Maybe I was sleepy.
The Harland Sharp rockers do use an 8mm X 1.25mm pitch bolt.
It is an 8mm bolt that is used on Canadian CVH rockers - not 10mm like I said.
You will require an insert in the head to reduce the 10mm to the 8mm X 1.25 thread.
Timecert type insert?
http://www.timesert.com/html/mtrcsert.html
You will have to measure what depth of insert is required.
Sorry about my misinformation previously.

I did not tighten with tappet at lowest point. The tappets were new and not pumped up yet - so it didn't matter. But tightening them with tappet at lowest point is a good idea. Be certain not to over tighten the nut. Use factory torque figure. Most issues with studs pulling threads is from over tightening.

All fitted torqued down to 22bft as per Harland sharp settings ,only done 6 miles so far but feels a tiny bit more responsive on the throttle and sounds allot quiter . Even thoe my standard rockers and fulcrum washers were all new !! Trying to put a picture up !

They are poly lock nuts to hold the new rockers on . U remove all the old stuff completely including washers the old arms sat on ! Install the new seats which come with the Harland sharp rockers. Put the new rocker on torque down the nut to 22bft then do up the poly lock Allen key but in the centers to 16bft . They were soaked in 30weight oil for 2 days previous to fitting . Job done
