Default electric windows

Right, I've got a slow passenger window however its only slow using the drivers switch. Use the psgr switch and its fine.
I've stripped the drivers switch down, cleaned up all the contacts and its made no difference at all. Continuity tested all wiring and its all good.

Could the switch still be the cause even tho its cleaned up :/

(Drivers side window is fine and fast so would only be half of the switch with issues)

Dunno what else to test before I start swapping out parts

If not the switch then the wiring from the switch, continuity test doesn't show what current it can flow, just that it's making a connection.
Run a couple of fresh wires direct from the switch to the motor and see what happens (just temporarily for testing).

I had this problem and it was the connector blocks behind where the speaker pods sit in the front pillar, i cut the blocks and re crimped the wire n all has been good since

But the power for the passenger switch comes from/through the drivers switch.

So if the passenger switch is speedy (well speedy for an escort ) then it can't be the wiring imo. If the drivers switch didnt look so clean inside i'd just replace it. Cant understand where the power less is occuring

As per my response to Karlos, the power comes through the drivers switch and goes across to the passenger side before finally going to the motor. So as the passenger side is working fine, i can't see it being a poor connection between drivers switch to passenger switch.
I did check the blocks but they are nice clean metal anyway

Did you open up your "broken" switch to see the state inside? or literally just swap out and hope for the best?

Hmm then I guess it points the that half of the switch not making a good connection, which is easy to test, bypass the switch using a suitable size piece of wire and see what happens.

there's a whole other thread bout this somewhere, i think the answer was in there somewhere, it was something to do with the door wiring being fucked because too many wires were broken and it wasn't getting enough current or soemthing

i've read what you put, but have you tried NEW wires between the switches and the motor?

if that's solved the problem then that's the problem

Had the same as well. Cleaned everything which made a little improvement. Tried some other switches which didn't help at all

Take the glass out
Clean off and replace the grease in the runners the motor linkage attaches to
The groove will be dry and crappy after all these years
Also worth dripping some wd40 down the rubbers where the glass sits
Once the fluffy texture is worn off you are left with glass on rubber which isn't slippery

Works fine from the passenger switch mate so not a mechanical problem.
