escort rs turbo tuning
hi i have just bought a new engine for my escort. im wanting to know what sort of power i can expect.
the engine was built by jamsport in 2007 with reciepts
full bottom end rebuild
new head cylinder
piper t2 cam
upgraded clutch
chipped by jamsport
ported and polished.
i have since had the engine stripped and checked, full set of gaskets fitted including head gasket new head bolts, new ht leads, new thermostat, new fuel filter, new timing belt, new lifters and oil seals in head. running standard turbo, dump valve, full scorpion exhaust, if i get it mapped and turn up the boost what sort of bhp could i get out of it?
cheers
Neil

how much can you get a decent 2nd hand intercooler for and are they hard to fit? money is tight after buying/ fitting the engine
is efi really worth changing to? is it a big job?
cheers
Neil

grs go for any where between 120-220 second hand or 280 new posted.
efi is the was forward but i would say get used to the mfi first enjoy the car before convertin lol
Oh just to add the coolers are easy to fit just bumper off and bolt it on, as for converting the efi it depends what you go for ... omex, cossie, ofab, thats only to name a few.

gotta think power to weight ratio as well mate if you want a fast rst you can always put it on a diet lol get stripping.
yeah mines cossie managed um the cossie conversion starts at around 1350 i think thats with a converted cossie loom and l6 ecu blue injectors still a good system tho as most will agree, The main problem you have with mfi is the fueling so whilst you can get good power it can be unreliable and the last thing you want the to be blowing your mates cars away then be blowing your engine up ha ha
get on oddkiddcreations.co.uk mate thats janos forum everything you need to know about cossie management and there all top lads on there
cheers for the comment on the car, post some pics of yours up

I recon you prob got more around 160bhp at wheels. get a big intercooler and uprated turbo and then get it set up by a pro... You got preety much same set up as me apart from cooler and ally rad mine is about that with 10psi.
Always intercoolers in for sale adds. you cnt get a second hand pace double capacity for about 70 posted
As I think if you want to start hitting the 200+ mark you wanna start saving some pennies. remember these are any 135bhp aprox stadard but in there prime that was pretty nippy.
What PSi is the turbo pushing?
