I want to build a reliable 250bhp ish S2 for the track/tarmac!
Been thinking of either ZVH or Full Zetec, along with Gotech Managment (EFI) - i'll be using my New Stage3 T3 and GRS Front mount off the car now (i didnt want to open a new thread for a suggestion, when someone has already started one) - Soz for HiJack ![]() Thanks Dan

i'd build a zetec turbo, a bc/ib5 box might last longer then, the torque surge you get from a zvh is such that you'll wreck boxes frequently.
my rebuilt one has lasted a couple of thousand miles with my zvh peaking 23psi of boost and has started to make noises |

a zetec turbo is a waste of time on any ib5/bc box . if you only want 250hp stay cvh they fine at that power all day long.

There are plenty of worked cvh's running big bhp and as mentioned above, have the ability to achieve the brake your after. Mine had a zvh with it and I decided to stay with it. Its on mfi at the moment and the next stage will be to hit efi, see how she does and then maybe one day full zetec.
To be honest I get put off high bhp rst's, handeling issues (unless you've sorted your suspension) and things always breaking. I'm currently just enjoying using mine everyday, its been ages ![]() Ultimately its what you want from your car, there are options either way and if you're doing fresh then do it properly. For me, as mentioned above i plan to run efi and get it mapped properly which will make a big difference no doubt and continue using it daily. Last edited by dave_s2_rst; 30-06-2010 at 12:28 PM. |

to add big power in a rs is fine and can be reliable! My daily car is a fiesta turbo with a 370hp zetec but it has to be done right!

my plan is to replace the zvh with a forged blacktop 2.0 zetec engine, therefore it will be strong enough and rev enough, whereas the zvh doesn't pull great over 6krpm really.
250bhp is easily possible on a cvh, easier on a zvh though. as for reliability, then it's all down to build and fuelling/timing to get the best out of it. IMO mfi should be replaced with efi, it is beter for many reasons. |
