Default Can you fit new rs turbo engine with gearbox still in

I have just took bottom end out of my rs but a never took out gearbox is it possible to get full engine back in without havin to drop box out

how did u do it i mean did u slide engine under drop car down with no wheels on it

yes you certainly can......engine crane so engine in the top, tilt the gearbox as far as you can and carefully shimmy it in at an angle. The hardest part is getting the gearbox to line up with the splined shaft and lock together as that can be a right cunt! Need a couple of pairs of hands for ease, and be prepared to swear a bit the first time you do it

You really need an engine crane yeah, a hire place will usually deliver them to you, not that expensie to hire for a weekend if you don't know someone with one.

also to make life easier take off aux pulley, i took my own out the other week on my own with a crane an took me 2 hours inc smoke breaks

I always do it like this on a CVH. jack the box up so that it is angled upwards as much as possible - you can slacken the mounts to get more movement. Then lower the engine in at an angle. As said above, mating the box and clutch is the biggest pain, will help if you have two people for this bit.
