very true mate ,but pisses me off what would he know what it can cost if you are perpared to do a bit yourself . a lot of people on here build there own engines to a very heigh standards you for one and your a builder lol

well between the people we know that have built own cars we've got a supermarket delivery driver, tanker repairer, builder, car accessory salesman and an electrical engineer
so it can't be that hard you just need to do your homework then expect a few problems like my actuator last night and learn from that and move on

Building engines isnt the problem, stopping customers from pointing out the head is a bag of nails is!! lol

I got well rippped of there, ebay stage 3 spesh,,,,,,Lying bugger!!

One thing I'm fairly sure of is that I won't have the R26 in 8 years time. I'm also fairly sure that I won't have another RST either.

So you have changed or done a mtx /focus rs conversion?
Crazy threw a dummy when Christain commented that he done the conversion in his lunch break and now its a not that HARD? 12 hours it was if i remember rightly?

not trying to doubt what it cost you its just you were very lucky to get the parts for that price, not everyone else can or will do the same though.
on average a conversion like yours would cost 1500-2000 supplied and fitted

its not that hard to do tho!! i have done you havent so how can you comment? christain also said you cant make mounting points in your garage at home or weld shafts but i did then he said if drove the car they would just snap yet i have run over 15 12sec 1/4miles at the pod last year and about 10 low 13s and 4000 miles and a few 0-60s at ford fair and all is fine .
and yes it did take about 12 hours to mount the box .

yes done 2 frs conversions 1 in escort, 1 in fiesta and i picked my 6 speeder up last night for the escort and now it's sitting in garage next to the frs box so we could see the differences and it looks like it'll slot straight in just need to cut a starter location out of a bc box and weld it into the front of the 6 speeder so it'll do front/rear starter and kick it on a bit of an angle like wrc cars or leave it normal and move brake servo etc forward a touch, all in with new clutch and flywheel, shafts, cables, shifter, mounts, etc will of set me back £650 then i'll sell my jamsport box and ap 2000-35 and my hydrolic conversion for same box or as a job lot and would of thought i'd get £300 for that lot and £200 for the brand new b&m quick quick shift with all the linkage too so hopefully the conversion will owe me 150-200 which i can live with and will be much stronger then all i'll need to find is a diff in the future and as most of the mounts are similar to the frs box then we should easily do it on a sunday once weather warms up so don't think we'll need the 12 hours thanks but when i do the conversion i'm going to full photograph it and post it for you all in the future

was sorry to have to tell you that at the time but you'd of struggled on the 2lt and the escort is starting to fly but actuator not up to it need a new -34 for it but at 15psi last night we were playing with a vectra v6 and as we joined the motorway he tried it on and once 3rd hooked up he just seem to dissapear then he caught us up as we slowed down again and he was still trying thinking he could out pace me at higher speeds so i kept a safe distance and let him think he had me and at 115 when he was obviously foot to floor and his speed was creeping slower i pulled out and accelerated to go past him and upset him again but boost hose popped of so i had to let him on bye which was ok as i know that he was licked anyway can't wait till it's mapped properly as it's going to be mental

it's not a secret it's just un decided whether or not to cut floor on passenger side too so it can be 2 person power rather than the usual 1pp
