Default Xr3i efi to RS turbo, how?

Hi guys, yeah i read a lot of guides and as far as i know this is what i need:

The xr3i EFI loom (already installed)
Fiesta RS turbo ECU, Map sensor and IAC ? (the air temperature sensor) to go with it..

But.. My 1988 xr3i was born with the mechanical injetion, and later modded to EFI, and it have a LAMBDA ? Isnt this a problem?

I hear the lambda ones were rear but mine has one, will this make my conversion harder?

Regards.

OBS : I read the guide from this site, but again, im asking if the lambda aint important?

Hmmm. Does it have lambda input running to the ECU or do you have an aftermarket air/fuel ratio meter using it?

I'm not up on mainland Europe models but did they have cat's fitted to mk4's at all requiring the lambda input?

What ECU does it run, 1AFA??

Hi mate, I sadly dont know the ECU code, i cant find out tho, shouldnt take long.

Its a Lambda input running to the ECU, its original. =< Yes my car had a cat fitted (from the factory) My car is Danish but my engine comes from switzerland.

And that means its a 1990 spec engine with cat and lambda (I removed the cat tho, making it 108 hp :P)

Thanks so far

this may help ,surely you can just disconnect it as you will not be using the same ecu dont think any fiesta came with lamba sensor and cat

Not true. You can use an XR3i EFi loom (UK Spec) to run an EFi RS turbo engine with an OFAC ecu. As Dahl88's loom has lambda input I'm not sure wether all the other pins are the same as UK spec. If you were able to check it against the OFAC pinouts specified on http://www.rsbible.co.uk/escort/efi.htm then you may be lucky!

XR3i EFI without catalyst wasn't available in Germany. So a non-catalyst one would be rare. Converting you car is the same as converting an XR2i 8V to FRST

You are wrong. An XR3i EFi has a 1AFA ECU. The OFAB or OFAC ECU's cone from a Fiesta RS Turbo.

Its an easy job mate just read the rsbible quoted before, i did it mate n u can use an escort rst pump or drop the fiesta rst pump in top of ur xr3i tank. Ull need a meter of fuel line as feed n return pipe on pump face opposite way. As for ignition, feed n earths just wire through yellow relays x2. Just follow the diagram on rsbible
