I have a Rs Turbo series 1, i was just wondering will the cossie callipers fit ok behind the standard wheels. I was looking into doing the conversion as the standard brakes are terible!!!! I have not seen any second hand callipers for sale lately, i was at Ford ......fair and no joy in parts and spairs.

4wd calipers with 2wd discs and spacer brackets will, 2wd 4 pots WON'T, or at least not easily.

marky_g - don't think so, but don't quote me. They will be a different size i expect.

ive got 2wd discs and calipers on the front of my erst s1 all you do is grind 4-5mm off the inside of the caliper mounting face and then get suitable lock nuts and bolts to hold them on but ive had to use 5mm wheel spacers as ive got 17" softlines on because the caliper was to close to the wheel as is when fitting softlines on a 2wd cos

Hello guys,

I went to a race and rally shop in the netherlands and they can supply me the ferrodo D2500 serie from the 4x4 and the also can supply grooved and drilled 283 mm discs.

The problem is they can supply it in two different hights
around 44 mm and 56 mm hight of the total disc.

Can somebody tell me which hight i need to order, because i don't want to order the wrong ones because they are specially orderd. And it takes 4 to 5 weeks to get them

Please help me

who says? Thread is about 4x4 calipers all round? If you use 2wd calipers you need the opposite to a spacer, to grind yer hub carrier...

What you got fitted on that cab of yours?

I reckon you can use pretty much any rear caliper as long as the mounting hole lines up with your bracket. the only difference will be the offset of the disk, and so the size of the spacer. Just use the disk from the same car as the caliper or you might end up only pinching the outside edge of the disk.

If I want to use 283mm Sierra Cosworth 2WD brake discs on an MK4 with the original Escort RST S2 calipers, then I have to use front caliper mounting brackets, as shown here: http://www.rsrich.force9.co.uk/zetec-turbo/sale.htm

Unfortunately they do not answer to any questions, or orders.

Could anyone help me, and tell me the measuements of this bracket, so I can have it done by a local shop?
