Spark and coil problem
My mates got a 91 series 2 rs turbo, hes been having starting problems with his car, now this morning he went to start it and it just wasnt providing a spark.
Weve tested the following things,
The coil is getting power but providing no spark
The coil is earthed correctly
Weve replaced for a new coil and still no luck
Any ideas ?

What do you mean by "the coil is earthed correctly"?
The coil shouldn't be earthed until a spark is required. The earth should be pulsing on and off when he engine is being cranked over.

Pull the green (negative) wire off the coil, connect a testlight between battery positive and the negative connector removed from the coil. Crank the car over, the light should come on/flash fast.
If it does then you are looking at a coil/HT problem. If the light does not come on/flash then you need to be looking at the low tension side. The green negative wire runs from the ignition ecu down the off side wing across the front cross member and back up to the coil and are prone for breaking. check the continuity of this wire back up to the ignition ecu.
If this wire checks out to be ok you can check to see if a pulsed earth is present at the ecu. If not then you need to be looking at the hal sensor in the dizzy or a damaged ecu.
