i got some hi spec 355 and 6 pots, for mine, tried fitting them and they fouled the t/r/ends,also the caliper wouldnt fit as it touched the disc, the only way it would have fitted was to machine some off the bracket to allow it to move further outwards! it also touched the top of the disc, they went straight back,i lost out on £20 postage but eventually got my cash back after a couple of weeks, ended up buying ap 330 and 4 pots- perfect fit and precision made

Also, you can fit 378mm discs inside the 18" comp MO's if you use the correct AP calipers.

Agreed AP all the way, been down the hi-spec route before but then it depends on how deep your pockets are

Aren't your discs fitted the wrong way around? The grooves should turn in the opposite direction I believe. At least if I look at my AP's, discs are marked with 'left' and 'right'.

Jo,
They were marked L & R?

If they are i'll change them, but sure there right, seen others this way????????

I dont thrash the car, so would it make loads of differance?

I wasn't sure either when I got my brakes, so I asked Mike R where I bought them. He said to look at the box from the brakes, and indeed there was a little sticker on the box, which marked L and R.

I have no idea if it makes any differance, but I 'm going to follow the L and R mark. I guess AP put that there for a reason.

It should be as in the pic, (picture of front left side of the car)

AP and 380's

Disk rotation has nothing to do with the grooves on the outside of the disk, these are only there to clean the pads, you must look at the inner "veins" of the disk, these must run backwards to force out the hot air and not cut into the air as many people think

Just checked out mine too. It looks like the veins run backwards too, but the grooves on mine are the other way around

well i have had 355 6 pot from hi spec on my car for a long time and they have never let me down and i have given them some hard times in the past, the problem with hi spec is not the products its the staff they tell fibs about when you will get your brake kits and evern send out the wrong kits to you but once fitted i have found mine to be well up to the job.
I have just change to ap as i now have fitted some 380 floating discs and 6 pots so i wait to see what they are like, also putting some 330 4 pots on the rear

old brakes

new ones
