Default What exhaust have you got ?

On your Escort Cos, mine is a Mongoose and sounds crap, far too quiet, not enough burble and generally sounds quieter than an electric wheelchair.

So, without wanting to pay out £000's to get a new one, can i just take a box out and make it growl a bit more ? Will i damage the oil seals in the turbo due to backpressure issues if i do take out a box ?

Thanks

Suppose i am coming from an Evo 6 with a Blitz nur spec, but even so, i have heard Cossies sound really burbly and mine just doesnt !!

So, what about the idea of taking a box out ? Do you have all boxes in your exhaust or have you fiddled ?

look sliek they have mode some improvements and taken notes fro the japs, with using bolt up flanges rather than the old slip joints that move and leak

ive just had a sytem made by a firm in doncaster called custom pipes and they make them exactly how you want bore size, tail pipe size, number of silencers.
excellent service and excellent workmanship highly recomended.

and if your car has had an older engine (ie secondhand from a breakers ) when yours went pop the emmisions goes on the oldest bit, so if you have a 1994 car with a 1991 saph engine,, the emmisions it has to pass is the 1991 NON CAT test

Mines a graham goode system, but the sports cat has since been removed, the centre silencer has been replaced with a shorter more free flowing silencer and the down pipe has been cut, angled and extended further into the engine bay as turbo is on a different manifold.

so i guess mines a kinda mongrel/hybrid
