Big Brakes std Ecos Rims
Im after fittibg better brakes to my escort cos. Car is used on track days so really need a brake conversion i.e better caliperes bigger discs. But i want to keep the original ecos alloys. Ive heard tarox do a 305mm kit which will fit. Has anyone fitted big brakes under original wheels? Everyone i spoke to is a bit vague and dont want to commit to saying theyl fit.
Any comments appreciated

Iv got Brembo 4 pot calipers of a 911 turbo with 285 drilled and grooved
discs, and they just fit under the rim, Had to have the hub fetteld for it to
be a bolt on conversion, could run slightley larger discs 295s or 305s but iv
had no probs with the standard size discs so far, so no need.

I've got the Tarox 6 pot calliper and 305 mm disks under the standard rims. These fiited fine, but needed a 5mm disk spacer for the wheel to clear the calliper. I also installed longer wheel studs so the nut fitted correctly.

They are streets ahead of the standard ones, and are well worth the investment. Car stops very well, and you'll really notice a difference. Where they are great is when coming into a slow bend very fast, they don’t give up, and seem to work better when warmed up. I.E. Coming off a motorway at 130 or so onto the slip road, and are on the brakes for a little while for the roundabout……
